Writing

Nicolette Toussaint is a feature writer who primarily writes about Western Colorado. My topics range from art and artists to sports and the outdoors.

Most of these articles are drawn either from Carbondale’s local newspaper the Sopris Sun, or from Roaring Fork Lifestyle magazine, a monthly magazine that circulates from Aspen down the valley to New Castle.

Nicolette’s most famous piece of writing is a personal essay entitled “Hearing the Sweetest Songs.” This essay was published in the My Turn section of Newsweek. It brought sacks of fan mail when it was first published. Nicolette still gets emails about it since it has been republished in a textbook, and it also used in a college entrance exam in Japan.

In addition to the articles below in PDF form, many of Nicolette Toussaint’s personal essays are held on my blog and can be reached via the embedded link.
