I am a feature writer who primarily writes about Western Colorado. My topics range from art and artists to sports and the outdoors.

Most of these articles are drawn either from Carbondale’s local newspaper the Sopris Sun, or from Roaring Fork Lifestyle magazine, a monthly magazine that circulates from Aspen down the valley to New Castle.

My most famous piece of writing is a personal essay entitled “Hearing the Sweetest Songs.” This essay was published in the My Turn section of Newsweek. It brought me sacks of fan mail when it was first published, and I still get emails about it since it has been republished in a textbook and also used in a college entrance exam in Japan.
