Painter in Watercolor and Oil
One of Judy Norhagens’s favorite memories is of drawing out-of-doors with her father.
Although she took painting classes at Smith College along with her history degree, Judy credits her local artist friends for supporting her mature artistic development. She currently paints watercolor with Alaprima Group of Carbondale, and continues with oils
Judy’s work was described by one patron as “infused with light”. It is characterized by attention to light and shadow patterns, notes of strong colors, and an optimistic ascending structure.
Her work can be seen in local venues, including The Villas at the Snowmass Club (year-round),
The Village Smithy (next show, November 2018), DJ’s on Main in Carbondale, Local Color and Gene Taylors on the Snowmass Mall, and Small Wonders at the Aspen Chapel Gallery.
Works for purchase and prints are available from the artist.
Judy has resided in Snowmass Village since 1968, where she and her husband Martin raised their two children.
